This article provides an upbeat analysis of issues related to women in gaming and the game industry.  Overall, my experience has been pleasant and I see the ongoing discussions furthering opening minds across genders.  The women I know in the gaming industry all really enjoy being in this industry, and enjoy interactions with both male and female contemporaries.  I personally have never enjoyed my colleagues more than I do, now that I work with so many designers and developers!
